RHYTHMS OF COEVOLUTION
The Score That Composes Us
In the dim light of the exhibition space, seven hearts pulse with a soft glow. Evoking wind-up music boxes, these installations invite visitors to awaken them... A crystalline melody then fills the air, as the luminous heart becomes audible, animated by a new vitality. Here, each harmony resonates with the invisible intertwining of the human and the non-human, unfolding in music the relationships that define us.

Electrophoresis results, also showing the identity of the organisms. Each vertical bands pattern is both an organism and a chord.

Converting the electrophoresis into a musical score: Top 3 images: The electrophoresis is being annotated, then converted as a black on white image. 4th image: The darker bands are selected, as they contain the most DNA. 5th image: The musical staff is added in the background, and the electrophoresis image is removed, leaving only a dot in place of the darker bands. The next step is to play each chord as an arpeggio that overlaps on the next one, thus creating a combined "symphony".
